Kedleston to transmit, for the information of the Lords
Commissioners of the Admiralty, armies of telegraa from His Majesty's Ministers at Poking and Tokio,
rásmeeting the rusenred intention of Javan to annex the
Paracels Reefs,
Their Lordships will observe that Sir 7. Jordan
brought the matter informally to the notion of the Chinese
Winter of Xarine, but that he did not feel that it
would be politie without explizit instrustions to make 'irest recre son ta ti ons in the amze of enecurming the Chinese to exert their Sovereignty over the Islanda. Mr. Alston Yas sprlied further information, received from the Acting British Commul at Tammui, which landa
colour to the rumour that mnexation is gimtenlated by
Jaran, but he as-arently denreqnten any action at Texic which might result in presinitating mnexation.
Lord Gerson feels that, sa the Islands lie off the Coret of Franch Indo-China, the Franch might very likely resent any encouragement being given by His Majesty's
Dove sent to the Chinese to exert their Bovereignty over thep
Even though the Chinese menign we briated an
